Welcome to the Edmonton Catholic Teachers Local 54 Website
Teachers to receive 5.99 per cent increase for 2009/10
A message from AT President Carol Henderson
"In a decision handed down February 2, Mr. Andrew Sims, QC, has ruled that teachers working in the province's public, separate and francophone schools in the 2009/10 school year should receive an increase in salaries and allowances amounting to 5.99 per cent over the previous year's levels. This increase reflects the average increase in the weekly earnings of Albertans from 2008 to 2009."
Additional information concerning the arbitration and its impact will appear on the ATA website: www.teachers.ab.ca and in the ATA News.
Message from Superintendent, Joan Carr to the Board of Trustees and all ECSD staff:
"The following information was just released by Alberta Education. The arbitrator ruled that teachers should receive an increase of 5.99% which reflects the average weekly earnings. We will implement this increase for all employee groups in our district. We hope to complete payroll adjustments by the end of March. Thanks. (Dated February 3, 2010)
